The best toys and gifts for 1-year-olds help them explore these questions and practice these new physical skills. "They are also really interested in big questions like, 'How does this work?' 'What does it do?' And, 'What happens if I do this?'”

"One-year-olds are at a period in their development when they are becoming increasingly powerful and competent - evidenced by the fact that they are starting to walk and talk," says Rebecca Parlakian, M.A., E.D., a parenting expert from Zero to Three, an organization that focuses on kid development during the early years. Plus, 1-year-olds still have to be steered away from unsafe toys - play sets that have small parts that can be choking hazards or toys that can pinch little fingers - which can make it difficult to buy gifts for kids this age for their birthdays or the holidays. And they're aging into toddler toys, but many of those might still be too complex. Skills-wise, they're starting to grow out of their baby toys, though some (like those favorite stuffies and loveys) might still have appeal. There is no way we have turned the corner when our team still comes out looking like they want the season to be over. There's a lot to consider when shopping for 1-year-olds. Still waiting on the team to look like they give a F**k when the games start. They are clearly working harder with the X's and O's since the MTSU game. Kudos to the coaches for coming up with a winning gameplan for this game. That's great, but I want to see the team come out energized regardless of getting a turnover. Once we got the turnover, both offense and defense were clearly more energized. Why do we have to rely on turnovers to get psyched up? I'm not saying we lose the game without that TO, but I don't think we have a 20-0 lead going into the 4th.Ĭall me a mope, but I saw a Miami team come out flat again and look like they didn't want to even be there. We certainly didn't look like we even belonged on the field until we got that TO. I think this was the first time all year we looked faster than the other team. When the defense got back on the field, they looked much faster and stronger than VT's offense. Gattis clearly changed his game plan for this game. Maybe they do that anyways on their 1st possession even if VT scores. Once we got that TO, the offense started fast and aggressive. That TO changed everything for most of the game I'm tired of seeing our team come out flat every game. VT's pathetic offense was gashing us the first drive until we got that TO. Also, lost in this victory was the fact our defense came out slow and lethargic.

We are pretty damn awful to watch and if the VTech receiver catches the long pass which Tae severely misjudged, we lose 21-20.Ĭlick to expand.Agree with you here. Use Rooster to catch swings, run Thad in short yardage, and other than that, let TVD throw the ball at least 2 out of every 3 plays in a series. And Thad is consistently trying to avoid contact. Rooster runs like all he wants to do is not fumble. Keep the ball and decision making in the best player’s hands. Why play away from our strength?!?! Let TVD throw 60 times a game. Then we spent the 3rd quarter determined to prove that we can run the ball. In basketball a coach will literally run 1 play 20 straight times if the opponent can’t stop it. I have never understood why football coaches have to always prove how smart they are by getting away from what works just to show they can run other things. if something is working, and something else is not, PLEASE KEEP CALLING THE PLAYS THAT ARE WORKING. That was as boring a 2nd half of football as I have seen in years.
